So on Friday I went to a reception for all the students who are going abroad, been abroad or applied to go abroad and international students. It was kind of fun. They had about 10 people sit at a table while we were read a question and everyone had to answer it. After about 6 minutes we switched tables and did the same thing. We were able to talk to people who are studying abroad, plan on being abroad or are going abroad. I definitely learned a lot of good tips from it and I even met 2 girls who will be going to Cardiff in the Spring. While I was at a table, One girl asked me "Why Wales?" I was the only person at the table to be asked "Why *insert country here*?".
I didn't really have an answer except a) it was English speaking, b) it has a math class I need to take and c) it was cheap. But there is more than just that. Everyone goes to London. I swear there was about 15 people going to London and about 2 study abroad students from London. You also hear about everyone going to Italy, France, Spain and Australia. I wanted to try something new. You rarely hear about Wales except the fact that Christian Bale is from there who I plan to meet while I'm there ;). I don't know much about Wales. I do know it's a beautiful country, there is tons of history and I'm really happy to be spending 5 months there. I'm excited to explore the city of Cardiff and learn about the culture. It's a great country, located in the United Kingdom and I get to visit Ireland :)
